SAP partners can expect to earn about $220 billion worldwide in the next five years, thanks to the company’s analytics and Big Data solutions, according to an infographic by U.S.-based research firm IDC. This growth will occur as demand for advanced analytics and predictive analytics rises sharply over the next twelve months, says IDC. Approximately $102 billion of this estimated revenue will be in the Americas, $70 billion in EMEA, and $48 billion in APJ.

This multi-billion dollar partner opportunity, showcased in “Worldwide Ecosystem Analytics & Big Data: Growth Opportunities for SAP Partners” (see below for links to the infographic, commissioned by SAP), is related specifically to SAP products. It includes reselling, professional services, and solutions developed on top of analytics solutions, such as SAP HANA.

Customers seek strategy for analytics and Big Data

The digital universe is expected to grow to 40,000 exabytes by 2020, up from only 130 exabytes in 2005, according to a previous IDC study. SAP wants to help its customers master this explosive growth of data, which will enable them to make faster, better-informed business decisions.

The last twelve to eighteen months have also seen big changes in how customers buy analytics solutions, according to SAP partners such as Broadstreet Data Solutions, a division of NexJ Systems, which specializes in SAP HANA and analytics solutions.

“Customers are becoming keenly aware of the amount of data they are generating, and they are wondering how to put it to work for their business,” says Dwayne Andrews, senior vice president of sales at Broadstreet Data Solutions. “So, it’s not just a warehousing solution they are looking for, but also ways to put that data to work in real time and drive their business forward.”

Top three market challenges

But market demand for technology and efficiency won’t make solutions magically appear. So IDC’s infographic also features the top three IT challenges to delivering a successful business analytics solution: managing data quality, lack of sufficiently skilled IT staff and cost of technology, and data integration.
