SAP Education offers free certification during the football tournament period

May 26, 2010 by SAP News 0

JohannesburgSAP Education is creating an opportunity for consultants and users to improve their SAP qualifications while indulging their love of football, by offering free certification for any academy course booked between 21 June and 16 August 2010.

“We are expecting many thousands of visitors to South Africa during the period of the football spectacular, and it made sense to optimise the time of people who would most likely attend a course here at some point anyway,” comments Johann Pretorius, Education Director at SAP Africa. “We are therefore offering to discount the course fees by providing free certification – which is the examination component of the course. The offer will be valid for the first 50 firmly booked students.

“This is the first time that we have undertaken such an initiative, which is apt considering that this is the very first time the soccer showpiece is being hosted in Africa. We are therefore expecting many visitors from the rest of the continent, which is a region thirsting for knowledge and one of our most active territories,” added Pretorius.

Due to legal requirements, unfortunately, the offer is not open for our public services customers in conformance of government requirements.

SAP Education Africa is one of the leading providers of SAP training and certification on the continent, and has fully-equipped facilities at its head office in Woodmead, Johannesburg. The centre offers internationally recognised training covering the entire range of SAP products and solutions, and has also rolled out its online classroom initiative across Africa to spread knowledge and learning.

Pretorius says SAP consultants are increasingly in demand in the region as more companies convert to its business management solutions.

“East and West Africa are two large regions in which we have seen tremendous growth over the past number of years, which has naturally led to growing demand for SAP skills,” he says. “People with certified knowledge of the system are therefore highly sought after.”

He adds that comparative salary studies have also shown that these skills attract solid, and increasing remuneration, even in economies such as the UK that suffered heavily through the recent recession.

“Not only has there been salary growth, but the average salary of a suitably qualified SAP consultant remains significantly higher than the industry average,” he comments. “By enabling partners and consultants to improve their qualifications through this offer, we are also contributing to their growth potential.”

People who wish to take advantage of this limited offer can enrol between 21 June and 16 August for SAP education. Call +27 11 235 6362 for enquiries or e-mail: education.southafrica@sap.com.
