Industry-first agreement will combine SAP Cloud Travel and Expense with Amadeus e-Travel Management

AfricaAmadeus announced today an industry first strategic technological agreement with SAP, to deliver to the market a cloud-based corporate travel solution, including online booking, expense and mobile capabilities. Amadeus will integrate the SAP Cloud for Travel and Expense solution with Amadeus e-Travel Management, creating an innovative unified user interface and a common workflow with a single end-to-end offering for corporate direct clients and resellers. The new offering, which is available to customers on a global scale, is sold under Amadeus’ brand and delivers a unique end-to-end on demand solution from one single provider in the travel industry.

A SAP partner for more than 15 years, Amadeus, the world’s leading technology provider for the travel industry, was looking to better serve its corporate customers, both directly and through reseller partners. In order to provide the business travel community with a comprehensive and fully integrated set of solutions, Amadeus has chosen to extend the capabilities of its cloud booking solution with SAP Cloud for Travel and Expense. This will enable Amadeus to offer an end-to-end service, from booking to expenses refunding; ultimately resulting in an enhanced customer experience, reduced travel management costs and consistency in policy compliance throughout the entire process and journey

“Corporations want a complete end-to-end solution for their travel management requirements through one single provider and integrated with the rest of the company’s systems. SAP was Amadeus’ obvious choice as it is the worldwide leader in integrated enterprise solutions offering a new generation of on demand and cloud based technology,” said Álbert Pozo Vice President Global Customers, Amadeus.

“We are very pleased with this agreement. Bringing together SAP’s enterprise solutions and Amadeus’ travel technology and expertise, enables us to set a new standard for our cooperation and deliver a unique integrated offering for corporations’ travel management,” said Herve Couturier, Executive Vice President, Research & Development, Amadeus.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Amadeus for our first Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreement in the travel sector,” said Chris Willcocks, Director: Cloud and Line of Business at SAP Africa. “SAP already has a strong presence in this industry but this partnership will put us right at the heart of it. By combining Amadeus’ booking technology with our SAP Cloud Travel and Expense solution, Amadeus can now provide corporations with a unique and innovative way to respond to today’s requirements for travel management and business travelers’ expectations.”
