SAP Canada Named One of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2017

December 12, 2016 by SAP News 0

SAP Canada has been selected as one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for the seventh consecutive year in the 2017 edition of Mediacorp’s Canadian business survey.

A competition to determine which Greater Toronto-based employers lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees, Greater Toronto’s Top Employers uses eight criteria to make its selections, related to the workplace, employee benefits and development opportunities, and community involvement.

These are the reasons given for SAP Canada’s inclusion in the 2017 edition of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers:

  • Invests in employees’ ongoing education through generous tuition subsidies (up to $10,000 each year) and offers high potential employees the chance to participate in the unique SAP Social Sabbatical program, which provides employees with the opportunity to work with an international team of employees to solve business challenges for promising startups.
  • An industry leader, SAP Canada starts new employees with 3 weeks of paid vacation, moving to 4 weeks after only 3 years of employment.
  • Created the “Volunteer Ambassador” program to help manage employee volunteer and charitable efforts in the community — the company provides one volunteer day off each year and encourages employee giving with matching charitable donations, to $250 annually.

Agi Garaba, Head of HR, SAP Canada, said: “SAP has a big presence in Greater Toronto, combining both field sales and development resources and working closely with many of the Canada’s largest companies to innovate using technology. Working at SAP not only gives employees a platform to make a difference in the world, but also gives them opportunities for personal fulfillment and to enjoy their work along the way.”

Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario and operating in the Canadian market since 1989, SAP Canada serves over 2,300 customers and employs over 2,800 across Canada. The company has research and development labs in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

Greater Toronto’s Top Employers is a category in the Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition, the largest of its kind in Canada. This year’s winners were announced today in The Globe and Mail. To view the full list of 2017 winners visit: http://www.canadastop100.com/toronto
