CIBER Deutschland implementing SAP software at Weltbild Verlag
CIBER Deutschland is currently implementing an ERP and retail system from SAP for the publishing house Weltbild Verlag. In addition to its branches in Germany, the company will use the software in Austria and Switzerland to handle sales both over the Internet and at its brick-and-mortar stores.
The software – which is designed to manage accounting, procurement, and shipping in particular – is to help Weltbild Verlag achieve its goal of having one central software system for all of its channels. To make this possible, CIBER Deutschland has chosen a combination of the industry solution portfolios SAP for Retail and SAP for Media.
Having already begun in 2010, the implementation project is first focusing on the components Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), Project System (PS), Materials Management (MM), Business Intelligence (BI), and Global Trade Services (GTS). CIBER Deutschland then plans to proceed with Sales & Distribution (SD), Logistics Execution (LE), and a component for customer relationship management.

MHP releases updated add-on for translators
Mieschke Hofmann und Partner (MHP) has developed an add-on that aids employees in translating terminology from SAP systems into other languages. Translation Manager gathers all of the applicable terms and enters them into a Microsoft Excel file, which displays them along with translations that are already available.
Translators can then fill out the empty fields with the missing terms. The add-on then imports the Excel file back into the SAP system in question and stores all of the terms in a central database.
The second release of Translation Manager, which enables users to incorporate other translation tools, is now available on the market. Its improved search function also makes it easier to find material masters in SAP systems.

Even the attachments are included, eliminating the need to save them separately.
