coresystems delivers Web client solution to MISAPOR

MISAPOR, a Swiss manufacturer of construction materials, uses an SAP Business One installation augmented with an integrated Web client and mobile ERP access. For the integrated mobile solution, coresystems AG took home gold in the 2010 Best of Swiss Silverlight awards, which are handed out every year by Microsoft and the Best of Swiss Web Association.

Using their laptops and smartphones, MISAPOR employees can access a portal that resembles an online store to coordinate material orders and shipments. Each country can connect its own ERP system, and the solution automatically stores orders in the corresponding country’s SAP client.

Every field sales employee processes orders according to the same procedure through the solution’s Silverlight interface. Meanwhile, MISAPOR’s workforce uses coresuite mobile to call up business data whenever necessary, such as on their iPhones. The information is also available offline and can be updated at any time through the coresuite cloud.

Steeb offering incentive to switch ERP systems

Customers willing to replace their outdated ERP systems – even those developed in-house – with a modern SAP solution now have another reason to switch in Steeb GmbH’s recovery premium. The company is offering to deduct up to 25% of the cost of the system replaced from the price of the customer’s SAP licenses.

With banks still proving reluctant to issue loans despite the ever-improving atmosphere in Germany’s economy, this offer represents Steeb’s effort to provide companies with an incentive to invest in IT. Those interested have until December 31, 2010 to take advantage.

d.velop observing further progress in digitalization

d.velop AG, another company specializing in enterprise content management, is anticipating major changes in its field. According to d.velop, other companies are not taking advantage of the possibilities open to them with regard to digitalization.

  • ECM software is becoming easier to use to accommodate users’ productivity requirements.
  • The cost and effort involved in implementations are decreasing.
  • Companies’ increasing digitalization will increase the market potential of ECM solutions.
  • Market consolidation is becoming more dynamic because providers of ECM and document management systems have yet to reach the ideal size.
  • ECM is becoming an integral part of process management strategies, as well as a requirement for many companies.
  • For the moment, open source will remain a topic on the fringes of document and content management.
  • Microsoft SharePoint is gaining importance as a basis for DMS applications
  • Software-as-a-service (SaaS) is becoming a more popular alternative means of running ECM solutions.
