Dr. Kim B. Blair Vice President, Cooper Perkins, Inc
A NASA trained engineer and Ironman triathlete, Dr. Kim B. Blair is Vice President of Cooper Perkins, Inc. a technology development consultancy specializing in highly integrated electro-mechanical systems. He holds academic appointments as the founding director of the Sports Innovation Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) now called STE@M, and as a Visiting Professor in the Wolfson School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Loughborough University in the UK. Dr. Blair has extensive experience in the development of innovative solutions to challenging technical problems in academic, start-up, small-medium enterprise, and large corporate cultures.
A recognized expert in innovation and sport technology, Dr. Blair has given invited lectures at a number of innovation and technical conferences, corporate innovation workshops and US and European engineering schools. He is currently the Past President of the International Sports Engineering Association and many of his supervised academic projects have resulted in conference and technical publications.
Dr. Blair earned a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nebraska, and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics At Purdue University. In 2005, The University of Nebraska awarded him an Alumni Achievement Award.
