Marcus Baur Founder, Sailing Team Germany
Marcus Baur is an architect, entrepreneur, and professional sailor who competed in two Olympic Games in the fast and furious Olympic 49er class, won numerous medals at the European and World Championships, and led the world ranking for more than two years.
After ending his sailing career in 2008, Marcus became involved in three startup ventures that are in full operation today. Goalscape provides a unique software solution for goal-setting and program management. Fitness center mei:do, which he co-founded, puts equal emphasis on training the brain and the body. After founding Sailing Team Germany in 2009, Marcus has led its technology program, in collaboration with SAP since 2010, to bring innovations to sailing events and helps sailors to perform better.
Marcus is passionate about new technologies and the opportunities they create to improve our lives and the understanding of the world around us.
