A further major point of the event was the presentation by Alexander Arnold, Managing Director of Steeb. Entitled “Reaching Higher with SAP, Steeb, and Partners,” it showed the advantages of strategic partnerships.
This year’s topics included:
Automotive: B2B integration with business partners; e-invoicing for SMEs; software as a service, “What if” planning, i.e., planning with and comparing simulations.
Industrial, mechanical and plant engineering: Steeb gave a presentation on the key figures cockpit for the German Engineering Federation. Additional topics included engineering processes, after-sales processes with SAP, and multi-facility variant configurations in SMEs.
Consumer goods and trade: use of SAP e-commerce applications in B2B and B2C. Presentations featured examples from customer projects. Consolidation using SAP, adopting CRM in mail-order business, and international roll-outs.
Service providers: SAP presented industry-sector specific solution packages with pre-defined core processes. The company informed Forum visitors about Business Intelligence. Additional topics were the planning of personnel assignments in the contemporary environment, as well as challenges for IT and consulting service providers.
Service & support: Steeb took up message management in SAP Solution Manager with Service Desk. Further topics included process innovation with Six Sigma and RWD@Steeb, with an eye toward efficient support during software implementation using SAP Productivity Composer from RWD.
DCW Software: This series of presentations described new functions for analysis in Excel format, the analyzable DCW Archive, and change management for better end-user acceptance of IT. SAP also presented SAP Enterprise Support.
Ulf Merbold, physicist and former astronaut, concluded the Forum with a talk about his path to space.
