SAP Japan Appoints Tomitaro Anzai as President of SAP Japan

TokyoSAP Japan today announced the appointment of Tomitaro Anzai as President of SAP Japan. Effective August 15, 2011, Anzai will be responsible for all of SAP’s business operations in Japan. Anzai will report to Steve Watts, President of SAP’s Asia Pacific and Japan region. Incumbent SAP Japan President Garrett Ilg will resign from SAP to pursue other opportunities outside the organization.

“As head of our sales organization, Anzai has played a critical role in growing SAP’s business in Japan, while building and strengthening SAP’s relationship with our valued customers and partners,” said Robert Enslin, Corporate Officer of SAP Group and President of Global Field Operations. “In the short time he’s been with SAP, Anzai has built a great rapport with employees, serving as strong leader of the sales organization and an avid supporter of all the sales-enabling organizations in Japan that create a solid foundation for business success. I am confident that Anzai’s vast industry experience and proven leadership will help SAP Japan continue its trajectory of impressive growth.”

Anzai joined SAP in January 2011 as Senior Vice President and Head of SAP Japan Sales, leading the company’s customer sales efforts across all sectors. Prior to joining SAP, Anzai spent more than four years at Dell Japan where he served as Executive Director, General Manager of Sales, responsible for all sales and business activity at Large Enterprise customers, as well as for various finance and business operational areas. Prior to Dell, Anzai spent 25 years in a variety of sales, business development and managerial roles at IBM Japan, with particular focus on the Utility and Public sectors. His service at IBM also included a three year assignment in the US headquarters.
Anzai holds a BA in Economics from Keio University, Japan.
