Kevin Gilroy, senior vice president of Global Indirect Channels at SAP, has been recognized on the CRN 2014 Channel Chiefs list and has been named as one of this year’s 50 Most Influential. The prestigious Channel Chiefs list showcases those executives directly responsible for driving channel sales and growth within their organization, while evangelizing the importance of the channel throughout the entire IT industry. The 50 Most Influential Channel Chiefs list recognizes an elite subset of these channel executives based on their rank, channel savvy, ability to drive channel strategy within their own organization, and external impact on the channel at large.
CRN Channel Chiefs were selected by the CRN editorial team based on channel experience, program innovations, channel-driven revenue, and public support for the importance of IT channel sales.
As noted in the article, “While SAP was traditionally known for selling big ERP systems to big companies, the vendor has expanded deep into SMB markets in recent years – most of that through the channel. Under Gilroy, SAP has doubled the number of partners in its Global VAR Program (the company has some 13,000 partners worldwide) with channel revenue growing 40 percent annually. And the company is close to meeting its goal of driving 40 percent of its software revenue through the channel by 2015.”
The 2014 Channel Chiefs list will be featured in the February/March issue of CRN, to be published March 11, and online at www.CRN.com.
