Collaborative Quality Management approach offers proven best practices to ensure customers achieve technical and business goals

Dubai, United Arab EmiratesSAP Middle East & North Africa LLC announced today that it has expanded the SAP Quality Program to customers in the Middle East. Based on established best practices and proactive collaboration, the program is dedicated to fostering quality throughout the entire lifecycle of an SAP implementation.

The introduction of the SAP Quality Program means that customers in the Middle East will benefit from greater collaboration between all parties involved in an implementation project – including dedicated SAP representatives, experts, partners and key internal stakeholders. Working to agreed standards, milestones and activities these parties are proactively engaged in promoting quality principles as a fundamental platform for risk management and long-term success.

SAP customer Petro Rabigh is one of the first in the region to engage with the SAP Quality Program. The US$10 billion Petro Rabigh plant is the largest integrated oil refinery and petrochemical production facility ever built at one time, and one of the most sophisticated plants of its kind in the world. The company has an ambitious SAP project with a wide solution scope principally delivered by one of SAP’s principal regional partners. The scale and strategic nature of the project meant that Collaborative Quality Management was considered vital to the project’s ongoing success.

“We have bold plans for the continued growth and success of Petro Rabigh and understand that technology will play a crucial role in achieving our long-term goals,” said Iftikhar Khan, SAP Program Lead, Petro Rabigh. “At an early stage of our relationship with SAP we realized that in order to guarantee maximum return on our technology investment we would need to make quality our guiding principle. This meant proactive, regular engagement with all parties involved in delivering success. We also recognized that we could benefit from proven methodologies and approaches which can only be gained through extensive experience of similar projects. The SAP Quality Program has provided additional focus and transparency, as well as opening up potential new avenues for further development of the project.”

This proactive approach to quality management is based on SAP’s extensive experience and engagements with its broader ecosystem. SAP’s quality team is therefore ideally positioned to act as trusted advisors and provide guidance aimed at ensuring that both technical and business objectives are realized.

Leading the SAP Quality Program for the Middle East will be Frank Forndron; who operates as Head of Quality Management for South East Europe and the Middle East. He is supported by a specialist team including a local Quality Manager based in the Middle East.

“Organizations in the Middle East are ambitious and dynamic, and need to make sure that their technology investment is working for them from day one. They also want a clear roadmap for success which enables the growth of the business in the long-term. SAP has worked with thousands of customers to achieve just those things, and as a result has unrivalled expertise and experience to draw on and share. We know that a collaborative approach to quality is fundamental to success, and that addressing this in a proactive way is essential. I am confident that many customers in this region will realize the benefits of the SAP Quality Program and look forward to engaging with them,” commented Frank Forndron, Head of Quality Management for South East Europe and the Middle East.
