SPAX Tightens Operations with SAP Business All-in-One

The ABC Group – which evolved from the oldest screw factory in Germany and made its name on brands such as SPAX – is standardizing its IT landscape with SAP Business All-in-One. According to CFO Markus Ballhausen, the move was prompted by the group’s strong international growth. The aim is to optimize the company’s business processes and increase transparency.

The multilevel implementation was entrusted to SAP solution provider Steeb Anwendungssysteme. The first phase brings on board the SAP applications for financial and asset accounting, alongside controlling. Next in line are SAP tools for logistics and rollout in France.

Upgrades in Trend

For many companies in 2009, the focus in IT is turning to upgrade projects. This trend is currently being monitored by Lynx Consulting, Special Expertise Partner for SAP upgrades.

“Particularly in the current climate, companies are giving top priority to increasing their operational efficiency and upgrades are first in line when it comes to reducing total cost of ownership,” explains Dirk Osterkamp, CEO of Lynx. According to Osterkamp, other projects, such as SOA implementations or Java, are now taking a back seat.

LBU Systemhaus Cooperates with All for One Midmarket

LBU Systemhaus is joining forces with All for One Midmarket in a bid to expand its services. According to Martin Krick, welfare sector expert and chairman of the LBU supervisory board, social welfare institutions are becoming more and more dependent on end-to-end integrated IT applications. This means a growth in demand for SAP know-how. The new partnership will help welfare and healthcare specialist LBU secure this expertise.

All for One’s main focus in the health and welfare market is the provision of outsourcing and application management services. The company also specializes in the development and implementation of tailored IT operational concepts, as well as the installation and grass-roots support of SAP systems, including remote services.
