OpenText presents new version of Social Workplace

At the Enterprise 2.0 conference in Boston, OpenText introduced the next release of Social Workplace – software that facilitates social media-based collaboration, particularly among members of project teams. OpenText offers Social Workplace both as an SaaS model or part of an on-premise implementation. New in the latest version are optional integration with OpenText ECM Suite 2010 for records management and corporate governance, chat functions, and an enhanced wiki editor. OpenText also recently published a podcast that shows Social Workplace in action.

Fujitsu assembling SAP HANA Demo Center

Fujitsu has begun offering SAP-certified infrastructure for SAP In-Memory Appliance (SAP HANA). In addition to having completed its first implementation of SAP HANA at Mitsui & Co, Ltd., the company is working currently working with one of its subsidiaries, TDS, on establishing a global SAP HANA demo center in Neckarsulm, Germany. Customers will be able to access this facility from anywhere in the world, obtain consulting from Fujitsu, and design individual application scenarios. The demo center will also drive the ongoing development of SAP HANA by encouraging customers and companies to exchange ideas.

Steeb helping to visualize quality management

In Steeb Plus QM-Auswertungen über SAP Crystal Reports, Steeb is offering an add-on that aids in managing quality along supply chains. Designed to enhance SAP ERP by facilitating targeted complaints management and detailed error analysis, the add-on comes standard with functions for ppm (parts per million) analyses and error statistics pertaining to customers, suppliers, internal processes, error frequency, and the costs of complaints.

Meanwhile, the add-on makes it possible to change and expand analyses as needed and produce detailed graphical reports through SAP Crystal Reports, SAP BusinessObjects software, or client software. Steeb Plus QM-Auswertungen über SAP Crystal Reports is available for a fixed price, and companies can install it in just one day using the corresponding guide.

All for One Midmarket implements Business ByDesign at EasyWind

All for One Midmarket AG has signed a partnership contract with Logistiker.de – Prof. Krieger Consulting GmbH with the goal of establishing a reseller basis for volume business with SAP Business ByDesign. This new arrangement has already yielded a new customer project involving SAP’s on-demand solution: EasyWind GmbH – a manufacturer of small wind-power turbines that is currently experiencing global growth – wants to use SAP Business ByDesign’s components for enterprise resource planning, supply chain management, and customer relationship management.

SAPERION making Web sites ready for any audit

Information published on Web sites is subject to the same legal storage requirements as paper documents and e-mail. According to Herbert Lörch, CEO of the ECM provider SAPERION, companies often use solutions whose functions are limited to the barest essentials in making sure they meet the relevant standards concerning long-term archiving and other areas of compliance. Such solutions often fail to account for Web content.

With SAPERION ECM Web Content Archive, Lörch’s company has these requirements covered with transactional archiving that factors in the entire flow of data between providers and their online visitors. Personalized content, such as Web applications or receipts from online stores, can be saved and stored in customer-specific directories. In addition to enriching Web content with definable metadata, SAPERION’s solution also makes it possible to search through archived Web sites and reproduce them when necessary.

SAP operations outsourced to Pironet NDH

Consultants at VBW Bauen und Wohnen – Bochum, Germany’s largest real estate company – rely on an SAP-based rental portal from IMMOLOGIS. Using this portal required the company to migrate to SAP ERP 6.0 and find a new service provider to handle the application’s operation; Pironet NDH has been running the corresponding landscape from the cloud since November 2010. Meanwhile, the resources required for the SAP ERP environment are provided in an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) format. In addition to these IT resources, Prionet NDH’s service package includes service level agreements that cover typical peaks in demand.
