SAP Records Management Application Certified

Feature Article | January 29, 2007 by admin

SAP Records Management allows federal agencies such as the Department of Defense (DoD) to track and store digital and electronic assets resulting from enterprise processes such as procurement and financial transactions. DoD policy dictates that the department only procure DoD 5015.2-STD compliant products. The DoD 5015.2-STD certification validates that SAP Records Management delivers the integrated business processes and records management best practices required by DoD agencies to deliver increased visibility and transparency across enterprise operations. The DoD 5015.2-STD supports current US National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) regulations.
This certification represents SAP’s compliance with the DoD 5015.2-STD, including record file plan development and control; user administration and privileges; and electronic document filing of vital records. SAP Records Management successfully passed JITC tests for functional support of record versioning, record supersession, record rendering, vital record cycling, multi-stage disposition scheduling and document history audit tracking. SAP Records Management is built on the SAP NetWeaver platform, and is available through SAP products such as mySAP ERP, mySAP Supplier Relationship Management and mySAP Customer Relationship Management.
JITC is the testing organization responsible for certifying records management applications for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). With this responsibility, JITC must certify that records management applications seamlessly interoperate with the vast array of secure communications networks, computers, software, databases, applications and other capabilities that DISA provides.
