SAP holds Global SAP® Business One HANA Technology Summit in Bratislava, Slovakia to Enable Partner Community World-Wide on the Break-Through Innovative SAP HANA® Platform

SAP AGFollowing the announcement of SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA at CeBIT 2013 this March, SAP AG (NYSE: SAP), hosted the global SAP Business One HANA Technology Summit in Bratislava, Slovakia. The aim of this event was to provide SAP’s partners and its customers with detailed information and training, enabling them to leverage the SAP HANA platform to support high-volume transactions to empower small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to run their businesses in real time.

The summit, held April 17-19, was attended by more than 250 experts from 30 countries around the globe. Gold sponsors, Hewlett Packard (NYSE:HPQ) and SUSE Linux as well as silver sponsors, Fujitsu and Portugal Telecom supported the event to demonstrate the platform’s capabilities and their commitment in working with SAP in their go-to-market of this innovative solution.

The version of SAP Business One for SAP HANA offers the complete small business essentials in one single user interface, helping users operate their businesses from end to end — from operational to strategic level and with improved visibility and control. SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA, will help companies dramatically reduce reporting response times, enabling employees to be both more productive and more effective in their decision-making. The speed offered by in-memory computing will help small businesses to answer previously unsolvable problems, and will allow all users to become more efficient by leveraging out-of-the-box features of the application for enhanced user experience. These include enterprise search, powerful interactive operational analysis, all of which enable business workers to deal with information in their daily work more effectively.

Due to the novel nature of the platform, this event provided detailed information, hands-on sessions, demos and trials as well as the ability to exchange information on the platform among the attendants. SAP Business One partners can create a new breed of innovative add-on solutions in their dedicated industry or geographic markets through the integration of SAP HANA with SAP Business One. SAP and Portugal Telecom recently announced their plans to make available a cloud-based developer edition of the SAP® Business One application, version for the SAP HANA® platform. The developers can leverage this platform during the event with a fully configured environment for SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA, to help accelerate development of extensions and add-ons built on the SAP HANA® Cloud platform available on SmartCloudPT.

The ability to gain deeper insight into operational analytics will enable SMEs to accelerate business processes through a platform designed for scalability and better system performance in a highly concurrent environment. During the event, the attendees explored the new SAP- HANA-powered application with integrated capabilities of an in-memory platform with the company’s existing SAP Business One. The version of SAP Business One for SAP HANA offers real-time business insights from the same system that runs the transactional processing, eliminating the need for a separate data warehouse and thus help lower costs and reduce IT landscape complexity. SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA, empowers small enterprises to cope with the unprecedented growth and “big data,” of the convergence of social, device, equipment and corporate data.
