Eight SAP components in use
The implementation of it.manufacturing involved several key business areas at SÜSS MicroTec – from materials management; purchasing; sales and distribution; and production planning and controlling to comprehensive administration, including human resources management; accounting; and controlling. A separate part of the project involved the full integration of a computer-aided design (CAD) system to enable computer-supported document construction. This boosts the number of SAP components used at SÜSS MicroTec to eight.
Underscoring the professional consulting and support provided by itelligence, Frank Kelmes, global supply chain director at SÜSS MicroTec, gives the SAP ERP-based solution high marks. “The it.manufacturing solution has significantly accelerated, standardized, and optimized our IT processes,” says Kelmes.
SÜSS MicroTec has already finished implementing it.manufacturing at its headquarters near Munich, as well as in the German cities of Oberschliessheim and Vaihingen an der Enz. With the completion of additional planned rollouts for the company’s locations in Dresden, Germany; the United States; and Asia, the solution will connect as many as 550 users around the world.
