Treading New Ground

Anker specializes in the manufacture, design, and fitting of commercial carpets in offices, hospitals, shops, and airplanes. The midsize German company, based in Düren near Cologne, needed a new enterprise software solution. Its former system, provided by VEDA, was no longer able to map its enterprise management processes effectively.

Anker chose SAP ERP for its breadth of financial accounting and controlling functions, not to mention its capacity to call up information in real time – bringing Anker’s reporting right up to the minute. SAP ERP also helps the company to assign standard and marginal costs, analyze profitability, and manage order settlements. Thanks to the solution’s clearly defined interfaces and open standards, Anker’s existing software for the textile industry – called update texware – could be easily hooked up to the ERP system.

SAP ERP was implemented by Steeb Anwendungssysteme, an SAP partner and one of Germany’s leading providers of SAP solutions. Steeb supports its customers with preconfigured packaged solutions and service offerings.
