International organisation lays foundation for efficient and effective management with integrated SAP solution

LondonThe British Council, the UK’s International organisation for learning opportunities and creative ideas, has selected mySAP Business Suite to replace a number of disparate legacy systems as the foundation for enabling a major business transformation within the organisation.

To reap the maximum benefits from the new integrated solution at the organisation’s 220 locations in 109 countries, The British Council will take a step-by-step approach to implementation over the next few years. The British Council will be rolling out SAP for Higher Education and Research (SAP for HE&R), mySAP Financials, mySAP Business Intelligence and an SAP Enterprise Portal, all supported by the SAP NetWeaver platform. SAP for HE&R, a comprehensive portfolio of solutions tailored to the needs of colleges and universities, includes SAP Campus Management as well as CRM for Student Management to help streamline student and organisational processes.

“The integrated SAP solution will revolutionise the way we work by delivering the information we need, when we need it, to help us achieve greater organisational collaboration,” said Peter Holes, Programme Director, The British Council. “The solution will reduce administrative burdens on staff so the organisation can spend more time serving students and connecting people worldwide with learning opportunities and creative ideas from the UK.”

The British Council will initially implement mySAP Financials here in the UK to help improve financial planning and forecasting, streamline the financial supply chain, reduce the cost of financial operations and ensure timely billing. A key feature of the overseas implementation is online registration and payment for courses via the Internet.

Sarah Cook, Account Manager, SAP UK commented, “Among charity and public sector organisations, The British Council is positioning itself as a leader in ensuring the effective and efficient use of the funding it receives. By implementing an integrated solution from SAP, The British Council stands to make significant gains in efficiency and effectiveness while enhancing collaboration and sharing of information across the organisation.”
