Employees use the new solution to drive down costs
London — Lloyds TSB has gone live with SAP’s Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) E-Procurement solution following the successful completion of a programme run jointly by Lloyds TSB, SAP Consulting and Capgemini UK plc.
The SAP solution went live at the end of March 2007 and is being rolled out across the 72,000 staff within the Lloyds TSB Group resulting in a single, easy to use, common buying process for the majority of Lloyds TSB’s spend on goods and services.
Mark Swyny, Service and Systems Director, Group Procurement at Lloyds TSB highlighted the main benefits: “The solution is a key part of the Lloyds TSB Group’s major Procurement Transformation Programme and will allow us to optimise control of spend and reduce costs in the bank’s procure to pay process using an electronic, fully integrated closed loop solution with our existing SAP Financial and Reporting solutions”.
Mark added : “Lloyds TSB is taking a strategic approach to align technology with business plans in order to provide an even better service for customers and a more effective way of working for Lloyds TSB’s employees. I’ve been particularly impressed by the real ‘team’ attitude which was vital in overcoming issues to ensure we could deliver on our plans and achieve success”.
Capgemini worked with SAP Consulting to deliver the programme and Nasrin Janmohamed, Vice President, Financial Services at Capgemini UK, said: “It is vital that Lloyds TSB has a solid business strategy, working closely with IT. We worked with Lloyds TSB to determine the best approach for moving forward, and the SAP solution will help the company to achieve its goals”.
Ian Anderson, SAP Client Manager, noted that SAP solutions are already used in a number of different areas in the Lloyds TSB Group. “Lloyds TSB’s decision to implement the SAP E-procurement solution gives further credibility to the benefits that SAP customers are achieving in Financial Services and further strengthens the growing strategic partnership between SAP and Lloyds TSB,”
Caroline Booth, Chief Procurement Director, Lloyds TSB added: “A key factor in deciding to choose SAP was the company’s strategic focus on developing solutions which cover the whole procurement process from strategy to execution. Our aim is to continue to develop Lloyds TSB into a world class procurement organisation and in SAP we believe we have found a long term partner who will be able to help us achieve this.”
