MIDDXSAP UKI today announced that it has appointed former Oracle Director, Hazel Nash, as its new Director of Channel for UK and Ireland. Hazel will be working to further boost SAP’s channel expansion, with a focus on recruiting new players that can add more value to the small business arena and vertical markets. In addition, she will be looking at new and innovative ways of driving deeper collaboration with existing partners.

Hazel comes to SAP from the position of Senior Director at Oracle UK where she played a major role in transforming Oracle’s SME strategy engaging and working directly with channel partners. With 20 years’ experience in the IT industry, including Channel Manager positions at Lotus, Novell and Centralis, Hazel’s appointment will further strengthen the SAP UK & Ireland leadership team.

Hazel will use her past experience to drive momentum and build on SAP’s existing partner channel as the company looks to secure 100,000 customers worldwide by 2010. As part of this the ever-growing SME market will be a key focus area for Hazel. SAP currently has 68 channel partners in the UK dedicated to selling SAP’s SME portfolio of solutions across 25 industries.

“Hazel’s appointment is a real coup for us. Her experience at Oracle means that she has a deep understanding of the UK SME reseller market and has excellent ties to some of the main players in this area. There is a great deal of excitement about her arrival and we are all looking forward to working with her,” said Simon Etherington, Head of SME, SAP UK&I.
