UK law firm chooses SAP and TCS as the platform for growth

BIRMINGHAM, UK.UK law firm Shoosmiths has selected SAP and SAP’s global partner TCS for the replacement of their Practice Management System and to provide a new technology platform to support the growth of the business. TCS will implement the core SAP ERP along with their Legal Management Solution (LMS) which will provide legal specific capability in addition to the SAP Professional Services functionality and will run on the SAP NetWeaver platform.

Shoosmiths, a UK top 30 law firm, has grown significantly in the last five years and has a clear strategy to continue this path of growth through innovation of traditional legal processes and introduction of more efficient volume legal services. The existing systems were becoming inefficient and inflexible and unable to support the growing business. SAP and TCS offered a complete end to end solution encompassing all front and back office processes.

Commenting on the implementation, David Bason, IS Director at Shoosmiths said; “Our existing systems are no longer flexible enough to support the increasing demands for change. Our customers have unique requirements on how they want us to work with them and specific information needs, and demanding more for less. Our business demands systems which can provide that flexibility. As a result we needed a platform that provided the maximum opportunity for system rationalisation and offered native integration between components.

SAP and the TCS LMS were the right choice for us as the technology provides us with fully integrated end-to-end processes, provides one version of the truth, allows us to get the right information to the right person at the right time and has the ability to enable us to become an agile and responsive business.

Despite the downturn, businesses understand the need to invest in the right technology whatever their size or industry where there is a clear and significant benefits. We are a forward thinking company that is committed to the long term success of the business by adapting to changes in the sector. SAP and TCS won’t just help us create more efficient front and back office processes across the firm, but will also support a number of major business transformation initiatives.”

“Technology can undoubtedly play a fundamental role in business success and by working in partnership with SAP, we are providing the legal sector with solutions that are tailored to their specific business needs.” said A .S. Lakshminarayanan, Vice President & Head – Europe, TCS.
