Investment Market News Service Improves Customer Relationships and Marketing with SaaS CRM Starter Pack

FELTHAM, Middx, UKSAP today announced that AngelNews, the leading European news service for the investment market has gone live after just four weeks implementation with the SAP Business ByDesign CRM starter pack.

AngelNews was founded by Modwenna Rees-Mogg in 2003 after realising that there was a lack of available market information for investment community. Many potential investors were limited to finding out about investment vehicles from their own personal networks and many entrepreneurs and small businesses suffered the reverse situation in their search for investment funding. Today AngelNews brings together both sides of the community reporting, via its website to over 30,000 people, about 2,000 fast growing businesses, and each day highlights about the great companies of tomorrow are shared. In addition to news reporting, AngelNews helps companies looking for funding to advertise their investment opportunities to its network of investors and venture capitalists via on line and face-to-face events.

“I started the company as a hobby, which quickly turned into a successful company. As the company grew, myself and the team at AngelNews realized we needed to invest in technology to help us manage our client accounts and better manage opportunities and marketing. Until this point we were using spreadsheets, which were becoming difficult to manage accurately and were resulting in costly errors,” said Modwenna Rees-Mogg.

Rees-Mogg continued “We chose SAP because we wanted something that was OnDemand so that we didn’t have high IT costs, and the (CRM) Starter Pack was perfect for us because although we only wanted to start with CRM, we do have the intention and option of using more of the SAP Business ByDesign suite moving forward. We are currently looking to utilize both the project management and finance capabilities.”

As AngelNews continues to grows their business through driving more face-to-face events the project management capabilities of SAP Business ByDesign will ensure that the small team currently in place has full visibility of all aspects of every event so nothing is missed and from a CEO perspective the integrated finance function will allow us to track profitability by project and event in real-time.

“AngelNews is a small company of approximately 10 employees so SAP Business ByDesign was the perfect fit for them. The CRM starter package is a pre-configured system that provides packaged content and deployment services, which enabled AngelNews to start quickly with specific capabilities around customer management and the scope to leverage the value of the entire integrated suite as the company and their operational needs grow,” said Ian Anstey, Head of SAP Business ByDesign, SAP UK.

We now have common, accurate and real-time client information available at our fingertips, which gives us confidence in the decisions we are making about future events and the direction we are taking the business” Rees Mogg concluded.
