SAP continues to push growth in the SME sector with new leadership and indirect sales focus.

FELTHAMSAP UK and Ireland (UKI) today announced the appointment of a new member to the UKI executive team. John Antunes takes the position of Director of SME and Channels, effective immediately. John is responsible for the management of SME business and for driving growth in this sector. He also picks up overall responsibility for building the UK and Ireland channel to support the global strategy of creating 100% indirect SME business in the UK and Ireland. John brings more than 15 years experience from the SME sector, having joined SAP from leading IT security vendor Sophos, where he was the Head of SME and responsible for developing and executing their direct and indirect sales strategy. Prior to Sophos, John was Partner Sales Manager at Microsoft UK, and before that, held various Managerial and Sales Director roles at Sage and Softline Pastel in South Africa.

Within his new role, John will be responsible for managing a team covering the ‘traditional’ SAP solutions of SAP Business All in One, SAP Business One, the SAP BusinessObjects Edge and Crystal Solutions, as well as the company’s SME OnDemand offerings of SAP Business ByDesign and SAP BusinessObjects BI OnDemand. He will also have overall responsibility for the UKI partner ecosystem

“We have a very clear strategy and that is to be the number one vendor of choice for SMEs. Our current customer base understands the benefits our solutions can bring to business, and we want the wider SME community to believe this too. I am excited to be at SAP, and I think we have a great opportunity to expand our business into the SME sector, especially with our renewed focus on indirect selling,” said Antunes.

SAP’s Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, Tim Noble, is also pleased to have John on board; “John brings a wealth of experience to this role. He has spent many years listening to what SMEs and channel partners really need and how best to work with them. SAP is in a stronger position than ever before and our SME and channels business is fundamental to our continued success.”

“I welcome John to the team and I wish him every success within this role,” commented Noble.
