Purdue joins a growing number of top-tier research institutions and universities that are choosing SAP solutions to drive competitive advantage. In its rollout of SAP for HE&R, Purdue will implement mySAP Business Suite solutions for financials, human resources and payroll, procurement and materials management, as well as industry-specific applications such as SAP Campus Management to better manage student recruitment, grants and core campus operations related to teaching and research. Powered by the SAP NetWeaver platform, the SAP solution set will help Purdue achieve an open, flexible and Web-based IT infrastructure to drive innovation across the entire enterprise while safeguarding existing IT investments.

OnePurdue, part of the university’s strategic mission to advance quality in all departments, aims to strengthen the enterprise-wide IT infrastructure by replacing multiple legacy systems which sometimes contain conflicting information about the same subject or student. Purdue will leverage capabilities of SAP NetWeaver such as master data management, which will help consolidate information from multiple systems and reconcile common data elements about students, regardless of the system in which that data resides. The integration platform will enable Purdue to assign a single, unique ID number to each of its students, staff and faculty, creating a solid foundation for back-office operations and the efficient delivery of employee and student services.
Innovation across the campus ecosystem
Educational institutions worldwide are seeking better ways to manage and coordinate diverse relationships with external stakeholders while maximizing their resources for recruiting, marketing, customer service and support. Home to more than 68,000 students from around the world, Purdue will utilize industry-specific applications from the SAP for HE&R solution set to support the entire academic life cycle. For example, SAP Campus Management will help Purdue improve processes across course registration, student recruitment and admission, and ongoing academic advisement. Industry-specific functionality from mySAP Customer Relationship Management (mySAP CRM) will enable the administration to efficiently identify and recruit prospective students, improve and analyze the effectiveness of marketing activities and develop stronger alumni relationships.
