AC to Implement Important Business Intelligence Project

This AC-Service Group consulting company, part of the SAP Consulting business division, is certified as a Special Expertise Partner for SAP Netweaver. “The goal of this new data warehouse solution is to provide efficient, specialised and address-focused support to the various decision-making levels within our company in all their management, analysis and planning tasks. One emphasis will be on modelling and depicting the ÖBf Sustainability Balanced Scorecard. We developed this tool especially for managing our company alongside the three dimensions of sustainability – business, nature and man/society,“ is how Dr. Ehrenfried Werderits, the director of ÖBf AG finances, controlling and accounting, describes the primary directions that the project will be taking.
Newly founded in 1997 as the Österreichische Bundesforste AG, this former state forestry administration has already implemented a number of extensive sustainability-management processes. Strategic analysis and organisational development assume a high degree of importance within this company, whose focus lies with its twelve forestry enterprises, two forest-technology companies and two national park operations. The company employs a total of 1,150 people and most recently posted annual sales revenues of some EUR 165 million.
“The challenges facing this new solution are mostly be found in the automatic data extraction from ÖBf AG’s different applications and in the data modelling to generate significant management information,“ says Leo Fuchs, managing director of AC Solutions in Vienna. The solution will be engineered on the basis of Netweaver technology (SAP Business Information Warehouse) and will include a web-based reporting, planning and simulation cockpit; special security concepts for enhanced availability of the planning environment; a rules-based validation system for error avoidance; as well as an e-mail-based mass reporting system for report distribution.
An option is also planned for having an integrated corporate budgeting feature using the SAP solution SEM (Strategic Enterprise Management) BPS (Business Planning and Simulation) within the same system environment. Besides the solution concept presented, it was the unique expertise of the AC-Service unit’s Business Intelligence Team, as demonstrated in a number of big-name reference projects, which ultimately resulted in the bid going to AC Solutions. The project is set to begin right away. Both in Germany (AC Solutions, KWP) and in Switzerland (Process Partner) the AC-Service Group consulting companies in the SAP Consulting division continue expanding their classic SAP consulting portfolio to include products and services for business intelligence, enterprise portals and customer relationship management (CRM).
