The existing tailor made Mondi Business Paper (MBP) order process application will be replaced by SAP and significant process improvements with relevance for all MBP mills that are in the scope of the program. Mondi Business Paper is a subsidiary of the Mondi Group and together with Mondi Packaging makes up the Paper and Packaging division of Anglo American plc. With almost 17,000 employees and a turnover in 2004 of Euro 1,766 million, Mondi Business Paper is a global player in the business paper sector. Last year the Group produced around 2 million tons of paper and 1.7 million tons of pulp at 9 sites in 6 countries. The Group also has forestry operations in Russia and South Africa.
Redesign and optimization of logistic and controlling processes will be carried out within the framework of the project. IDS Scheer will add considerable value due to process-oriented introduction following the AVE method. AVE means building bridges between corporate strategy, the resulting processes and the ongoing monitoring of the operation. As a SAP Special Expertise Partner for the paper industry, IDS Scheer possesses many years of broad experience in this industry sector. This brings an ideal combination of competence in this sector and methodology to the project. “Our central task is to optimize customer processes according to the ARIS method. Our rightful assertion that we create ‘business process excellence’ fits well with Mondi Business Paper’s company-wide aspiration to achieve operational excellence. We are proud to be called upon to lay the IT foundation for the future growth of Mondi Business Paper and to support our customer en route to ‘supply chain leadership'” states Helmut Kruppke, CEO of IDS Scheer AG.
According to Wolfgang Käferböck, Information Process Director of Mondi Business Paper “the industry expertise, innovative ideas and the strong team were in combination with an attractive offer convincing reasons to award IDS Scheer with the contract to build MBP’s platform for further growth”. The completion of the challenging program is scheduled for July 2007.
