The existing Access and Excel-based tools have been replaced by SAP SCM Advanced Planning & Optimization (APO) and SAP for Automotive with the functionalities “Just-in-Time” and “Just-in-Sequence”. This has created a unified system which ensures consistent data and processes. After only three months, the new solution went on-stream allowing Grammer to now make even more reliable delivery promises. The automotive parts supplier is furthermore poised to add customized productions entailing many variants in a simpler and hence more economic manner to the production process. Last but not least, Zwickau can now generate detailed machine allocation schedules in SAP and thereby reduce tooling times.
