SAP Labs Hungary Launches Full-Speed Ahead

Hosting more than 200 employees of SAP Labs Hungary, the building will be opened today in a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Mr. Janos Kóka, minister for Economy and Transport of Hungary and Claus Heinrich, executive board member of SAP AG. The 8,000-square-meter office building is the newest in Graphisoft Park, the hub for IT companies in Budapest.
SAP Labs Hungary, the most recent addition to SAP’s global network of research and development (R&D) centers, opened in May 2005 with 70 software developers. Each of the eight SAP Labs locations is responsible for the development of key software components. The Budapest center’s focus areas are supply chain management (SCM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and solution development for manufacturing industries. Working with SAP standards and guidelines for development to ensure consistent quality, each location is run autonomously, responsible for its own organizational growth. By the end of 2007, SAP Labs Hungary expects to increase staffing to 250.
“The opening of the new offices represents an important milestone for the Budapest location and a very important step for SAP as we continue to become a truly global company,” said Claus Heinrich. “Our strategy for organic growth builds on leveraging the individual strengths of various locations and workforce, and SAP Labs Hungary continues to be a great contributor to our global SAP network.”
