Spotlight on Future Energy Market at IS-U Symposium
The future of the energy market took center stage at Cormeta’s 2009 IS-U Symposium, alongside the IT service provider’s new solutions for the utilities industry. Futurologist Frank Thomson talked about the energy market of tomorrow – a market without nuclear power and oil that relies instead on intelligent electricity networks, or “smart grids”, and electric cars.
On the software front, Cormeta introduced CGsprint, a solution that promises to hook up established national and international credit bureaus to ERP software.
SALT Solutions: Strategic Partnership with SAP
SAP Germany has selected SALT Solutions as a partner in its “Perfect Plant” collaborative business initiative. The German IT services provider offers production and quality management solutions for the manufacturing industry.
SALT Solutions delivers both SAP Manufacturing Execution and SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP MII), which come together under SAP’s Perfect Plant initiative to vertically integrate the ERP and shop floor environments. These are supplemented by SALT Solution’s own modules. SAP users can experience the company’s entire production control and intralogistics portfolio at the IT & Business trade fair in Stuttgart, Germany (October 6–8, 2009).
New Releases on Show at Cubeware Info Day
Business Intelligence (BI) specialist Cubeware made the most of its 12th Info Day in Rosenheim, Germany to showcase the very latest in its software. Around 300 visitors were treated to a first glimpse of Release 3 of BI front end “Cubeware Cockpit V6pro”, available from the first quarter of 2010. Alongside other new functions, Release 3 will offer interactive maps as layout options for reports and analyses. The event also featured an update on the next generation of Cubeware’s ETL (extract, transform, load) tool “Cubeware Importer 8”. Managing Director Hermann Hebben was pleased with customer response to the event: “The Info Day confirmed that we’re right on track with our BI technology and our relationship with customers and partners”.
