Cloud functionality in coresystems’ coresuite mobile

The SAP app provider coresystems ag is offering a laptop version of coresuite mobile, which is designed primarily for small businesses and midsize companies. Its functional scope is identical to that of the iPhone variant.

The coresuite mobile client enables users to access master data and other information in SAP Business One for various business areas, such as accounting and production processing. The app can also monitor service calls, record working hours and activities, and display GEO Location functionality on service maps. Mobile storage makes its data available offline, as well, and the mobile ERP system’s integrated dashboards present key company figures in a graphical format.

With coresuite mobile, coresystems is mainly targeting executives and employees in services and field sales. The base package, which includes cloud functionality, costs €9.90 per month (plus tax); optional enhancements are also available. Meanwhile, the provider has announced its plans to release the app for iPad, BlackBerry, and Android devices in the future.

su53 markets Managed Security Service for the SAP GRC technology foundation

With its Managed Security Service, su53 Solutions is offering companies the opportunity to outsource their operations of SAP BusinessObjects governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) solutions. Interested customers can have su53 manage, optimize, and update their in-house installations according to their wishes from Northern Ireland.

In addition to consulting, this service package aims to keep SAP BusinessObjects GRC solutions up-to-date and cost-efficient to avoid issues with external audits and other matters. The Managed Security Service is available in different versions and includes monthly reporting on activities carried out, as well as a quarterly evaluation that recommends changes customers should make to their SAP BusinessObjects GRC iterations.

Implico introduces all-inclusive solution for metals and salvage industry

On September 13 at the environmental trade show IFAT in Munich, Germany, Implico was on hand with itelligence AG to present a software solution that covers all of the common processes in the metals and salvage industry.

These include procedures in planning, collection, storage, evaluation, and risk management, as well as hedging and sales. Until now, only individual solution modules have been available on the market – SAP solutions such as SAP Waste and Recycling, for example, or it.metal, Bewertungsengine, and CrossWeight.

Implico and itelligence have since combined these components. Based on its expertise in waste disposal, Implico itself contributed the new solution’s analysis engine and weighing functionality, while itelligence provided it.metal, a solution designed for the nonferrous metals industry and based on SAP Business All-in-One.

Sycor helps update B2C online store

In just two months, Sycor GmbH helped relaunch the B2C online store of the home textiles retailer Jab Anstoetz. Having run on the basis of SAP E-Commerce for two years, the store received an update to SAP Web Channel Experience Management in the process.

Due to the increasing importance of Internet sales, Jab Anstoetz wanted to make its online store scalable and more user-friendly while bringing the underlying technology up-to-date. The relaunch thus required a number of adjustments, such as in the company’s programs and interfaces.

exagon finds cloud is changing IT service management

According to a survey conducted by exagon consulting (site in German), IT managers are expecting the increasing use of cloud services to usher in significant changes. As such, the standardization and automation of IT processes are among their primary concerns, along with the compilation of service catalogs.

Most important for managers in coming to terms with the cloud, however, is the management of service-level agreements. More cloud activities means having to oversee more services and processes of service providers.

As a result, 71% of the survey respondents expect this trend to affect the transparent, systematic way in which they deal with service levels. All in all, IT managers seem to consider few companies prepared for comprehensive use of cloud services.

Steeb recognized as Partner Center of Expertise

The SAP channel partner Steeb (site in German) has been named a Partner Center of Expertise (PCoE) following an appraisal of its employees, SAP Solution Manager-based infrastructure, and other elements of its service and support organization. A reseller of SAP Business All-in-One and software from the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio, Steeb also offers SAP Enterprise Support, SAP Standard Support, and its own services.

These include Steeb Plus Services, which are also based on the implementation of SAP Solution Manager. They cover the installation of the base software and current patches, as well as the configuration of various scenarios.

Steeb Plus Services also comprise authorization and performance checks and the implementation of SAP Business Connector to link cross-company processes over the Internet. Meanwhile, Steeb Plus Service Deck serves as a central platform for reporting IT infrastructure problems and assigning them to the appropriate employee.
