The SAP PartnerEdge channel partner program was featured today in CRN’s annual Partner Program Guide. The guide provides an overview of SAP’s growing North American partner program, including its core features, and makes mention of SAP’s 354 partners, also pointing out that 114 are new partners added in the past year alone.
On the hot topic of cloud computing, the CRN article mentions SAP’s concerted efforts to empower and train partners to promote the on-demand application suite, SAP Business ByDesign: “Also this month, SAP debuted a program to provide partners with training and lead-generation assistance in an effort to encourage them to carry the Business By Design on-demand application suite.”
The story further points out our overall efforts to help arm North American partners with the tools and terms they need to succeed in this competitive marketplace, and features one of our leading partners, Vision33.
Vendors this year seem to be placing greater emphasis on working with the VARs they already have, rather than recruiting additional resellers, and providing the help solution providers need to grow their businesses and expand into new areas.
That resonates with Alex Rooney, vice president of Vision33, an Irvine, Calif.-based solution provider and close SAP partner.
“When you’re a small business, what the vendor or [software] publisher provides is an ecosystem that nourishes and fosters business opportunities,” said Rooney. He adds that vendors should be doing everything they can to make their partners “scalable and profitable” — something Rooney notes that SAP is doing as the software giant increasingly turns to its resellers to help it meet its growth goals.
SAP is not looking back. Our partner strategy is moving full-steam ahead. And along with our partners, we are armed with a plan, and going for growth.
