Fujitsu hardware ready to handle SAP HANA

Fujitsu’s Primergy RX600 and RX900 servers, ETERNUS Storage systems, and network solutions were recently validated for use with SAP In-Memory Appliance (SAP HANA). The company thus now offers a certified, preconfigured platform for the software, which enables users to analyze data in real time within servers’ main memory.

Outfitted with eight processors and storage capacity between 128GB and 1TB, this infrastructure runs on Novell SLES and combines ETERNUS systems with additional, server-based storage technologies from Fusion-io. It comes preinstalled with a real-time replication service for SAP ERP and an in-memory version of SAP BusinessObjects Strategic Workforce Planning, and also supports integration with other SAP BusinessObjects solutions. Meanwhile, the services Fujitsu offers along with its infrastructure include customer-side integration, round-the-clock support, and regular system checks based on Fujitsu Solution Contract arrangements for SAP HANA.

The benefits the company hopes to achieve in doing so include reduced network load and access times.

During the rollout phase, Silgan White Cap already began to notice improvements in its stock accuracy, reporting, and shipping and picking processes.
