SAP Reports Record Growth in 2011

The new year is starting off with bang for SAP. Today, the software company announced the results of a preliminary review of its 2011 performance, and there is reason to celebrate in Walldorf. At a time when other software vendors have been missing their financial targets, SAP achieved its best ever full-year and fourth quarter performance results.

In terms of software revenue, SAP increased earnings in Q4 2011 to €1.74 billion. That is a 16% increase over revenues made in Q4 2010, or 17% at constant currencies. Year-over-year, software revenues jumped to €3.97 billion, a 22% increase, or 25% at constant currencies.

SAP attributes its record results to growth in its core applications, analytics and mobile solutions, and the momentum behind SAP HANA. In 2011, software revenue from SAP HANA alone was €160 million, far exceeding the company’s goal of reaching €100 million in SAP HANA revenue for the year. This accomplishment even takes into account the fact that SAP HANA first became generally available in June 2010. On the mobility front, SAP also exceeded its revenue target for 2011, which was set at €100 million.
