WALLDORF — SAP today announced the first SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) standard application benchmark result ever for SAP Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE). Running on the HP ProLiant DL380p Gen8 server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2, together with enhancement package 5 for the SAP ERP 6.0 application, SAP Sybase ASE achieved a new No. 1 two-processor Linux result on the two-tier SAP SD standard application benchmark.
This certified result, earning 6,250 SAP SD benchmark users and 34,100 SAPS, is the best two-tier SAP SD standard application benchmark result to date achieved on a two-processor Linux server running SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP and SAP Sybase ASE on the same physical server. These benchmark results underscore how SAP, together with leading hardware vendors, is enabling customers to achieve unmatched performance gains.
“With more than 25 years of experience running many of the world’s most demanding systems across many industries, this SAP SD benchmark result provides the first of many proof points that SAP Sybase ASE can also deliver the same high operational efficiency and performance for SAP Business Suite customers,” said Peter Thawley, vice president and general manager, Global Database Solutions, SAP Inc. “With SAP Sybase ASE, organizations running SAP applications can now use an industry-leading relational database management system that is developed by one vendor, supported by the same vendor and deeply optimized for those applications, all with the confidence that the platform will consistently achieve high performance, reliability and resource efficiency in mission-critical, data-intensive environments.”
