Manage your ERP from the iPad

The app from Coresystems AG allows basic access to ERP master data from the iPad. In doing so, it supports a number of business transactions that are commonplace in the office, but which become a real challenge when you’re on the go. For example, access to recently changed customer contact information, or a look at a graphic report during a phone call or presentation. After synchronizing the ERP data with the cloud, the system can be quickly deployed, thanks to standard integration with well-known ERP applications, such as those from SAP and Microsoft.

Through a direct connection to the business application, the coresuite mobile solution is equally suited to the needs of different users, including managers, service technicians, and sales employees. Inventory levels and sales dashboards are available, as well as analyses and visualizations, service calls, and geolocation. SSL encryption during data transfers fulfills security needs, and because data is saved locally, users can continue working even without an Internet connection.

The app is free and can be used with demo data for testing purposes. For operational use, an account in the cloud is required. More information can be found in the App Store or under

2. My Report

Create reports while on the go

It’s all in the name: MyReport, an app from SNC, is specifically designed for the creation of reports and documents.  Employment certificates, inspection reports, orders, test memos, and other documents are quick and easy to create using the wide range of standard templates that this tool provides. The templates are nevertheless adjustable to specific requirements. Users can also create their own templates that align with their corporate design, or they can let the provider do this for a fee.

Since the compilation of reports does not require an Internet connection, the app can be used in areas without UMTS coverage or HotSpot availability. Users can synchronize data with their business software and also exchange data with external partners. Formats that are standardly supported include: Mail, FTP, XML, CSV, PDF, DOC and TXT. Data encryption during importing and exporting takes care of companies’ security requirements.

The full version of the app costs 7,99 euros. More information and a free demo version is available in the App Store or under

4. EBF.Connector

Tap into your data

One tablet, many business applications – this is what makes many mobile employees so frustrated. Because, naturally, the required information is always stored in the application for which you haven’t (yet) installed a mobile app. The situation becomes even more complicated when users are employing not just the iPad, but also Android smartphones or BlackBerrys. Solutions like the EBF.connector provide relief. This app not only connects the iPad to diverse data sources (such as IBM Lotus Notes, SAP, and Microsoft Exchange) and SQL databases (such as MS-SQL or mSQL), but it does so with other mobile clients on Android or BlackBerry operating systemsm, too. Each app interacts with the desired database or application over a server. Whether it is contact information, order status, a presentation, appointment, or approval process – the range of uses for the solution is wide-ranging. The ebf.connector provides users, from sales employees to project managers, with the most current information, everywhere and at every time.

You can test the app using a pre-defined demo server. For operational use, an installation of the server component is required.

Download the app via the App Store, Android Market or BlackBerry World. More information at

5. GoodReader for iPad

A little more than just a pdf

We admit: GoodReader is no longer the newest app on the block. Nevertheless, it still receives the highest praise from trade journalists and users. They call it “essential”,  “magnificent”, and a “killer app”. At first glance, it doesn’t seem anything more than a PDF reader for the iPad. Reason enough to take a second look at GoodReader. After downloading and starting the app, it’s apparent that the “raw” look of most PDF readers for the desktop has been spared in GoodReader. Even large files are not only pleasant to read, but they can also be easily and quickly edited.

In addition, GoodReader allows you to manage documents stored in different locations, thanks to synchronization with Web services like Dropbox, SkyDrive, and SugarSync. Besides PDF and text documents, Microsoft Office documents can also be edited in the app, as well as files in diverse audio and video formats.

GoodReader for iPad costs 3,99 euros. More information in the App Store and at
