NEW YORK  — SAP today announced integration of Apache Hadoop into real-time data warehousing environments with a new “big data” bundle and go-to-market strategy with Cloudera, Hitachi Data Systems, Hortonworks, HP and IBM.

Cloudera
“Cloudera and SAP have a common vision of helping our mutual customers gain business value from the exponentially increasing amount of data from an ever-increasing variety of data sources,” said Tim Stevens, vice president, Business and Corporate Development, Cloudera. “Cloudera Enterprise, used together with the SAP real-time data platform, provides end users with an end-to-end solution for real-time big data analytics, leveraging open-source Apache Hadoop.”

Hitachi Data Systems
“SAP is a key strategic partner for us in the area of big data,” said Jim Beckman, vice president, Global Alliances at Hitachi Data Systems. “The combination of the analytics portfolio from SAP, Hitachi Unified Compute Platform (UCP) and Hadoop delivers a fault-tolerant and high-performance big data solution — presenting a very compelling value proposition for our customers.”

Hortonworks
“At Hortonworks our strategy is to make Apache Hadoop easy to use and consume in the enterprise and the new ‘big data’ bundle from SAP is perfectly aligned with that strategy,” said Mitch Ferguson, vice president, Business Development, Hortonworks. “Integrating stable, proven Hadoop 1.0 via the Hortonworks Data Platform with the proven SAP tools is the fastest way for enterprises to safely adopt and take advantage of Hadoop.”

HP
