The 2013 SAP Partner Summit, held May 13 at the Hilton Orlando, in Orlando, Florida, set the stage for what will surely be an exciting SAPPHIRE NOW, kicking off on May 14 at the nearby Orange County Convention Center. The full-day conference drew in more than 650 partners, who came to hear firsthand about SAP’s market strategy and its mission to work with partners to reach an even greater number of customers with IT solutions that enable them to become best-run businesses.
Co-innovation was a dominant theme at the event. Sanjay Poonen, president, corporate officer, SAP Technology Solutions and Mobility Division, underscored the importance of partner co-innovation as he thanked SAP partners for their commitment and encouraged them to deepen their engagement with SAP by bringing new solutions to market together. “We’re grateful for your partnership,” he said. “We need you to help us to finish that last mile for the customer.”
During the event, partners could choose from any of the 30 sessions, 18 micro-forums, and two expert tables, which offered insights and valuable knowledge on partner enablement topics such as demand generation for driving growth, SAP Partner Sales Methodology to close more deals, Social Media Partner toolkit and blogging tips to boost sales, engaging customers with design thinking, and how to expand business opportunities with SAP’s latest cloud computing and analytics offerings. “This is our best-ever SAP Partner Summit,” said Steve Graham, vice president of Ecosystem & Channels events. “We provided our partners with a variety of high-quality sessions so that our partners can choose according to their interests and aspirations.”
The event was topped off by a Partner Networking reception to give attendees an opportunity to compare notes on the day’s activities, as well as to meet other partners with complementary interests and areas of specialization. Later in the day, partners who won the 2013 SAP Pinnacle Awards were honored at the SAP Leadership Forum.
