MIAMI — SAP today announced that it has created a new mobile app to enhance the fan experience for the 2013 Sony Open, which will be played from March 18-31, in Crandon Park, Miami, Florida.
SAP, Official Mobile App Provider of the 2013 Sony Open, has developed an app that delivers fans exclusive content, up-to-date scores, news, statistics, enhanced player profiles, photo, videos, an interactive visitor venue guide, competition and tournament information. The app will also offer a live “Match Center” and an archive feature allowing fans to replay matches that were monitored by the Sony Open’s electronic line calling system. Fans can download the app via the Sony Open website at www.sonyopentennis.com, via Google Play (Android) and the Apple App Store (iOS) and also through QR codes conveniently located around the tournament grounds.
“Tennis is a great platform for SAP to integrate and showcase our technology and enhance the experience for players and fans, bringing them even closer to the game that they love,” said Chris Burton, group vice president, Global Sponsorships, SAP. “The addition of innovative and interactive features on the 2013 app will help fans engage with the tournament like never before.”
The Sony Open and SAP are also giving a lucky tennis fan the chance to be in Miami for the tournament with a package that includes VIP hospitality for finals weekend, flights, luxury accommodation and time to explore Miami. “We are excited to launch this year’s Sony Open mobile application, which we feel will enhance the user experience both for guests on-site and fans following the tournament around the world,” said Adam Barrett, Sony Open tournament director.
