HANOVER — SAP AG today announced general availability of the 9.0 version of the SAP Business One application, version for SAP HANA. As the first business management solution for small and midsize enterprises (SMEs) running on the in-memory computing platform SAP HANA, the application helps businesses supercharge application performance and analyze growing volumes of data in real time. Available on premise or in the cloud and hosted by partners, it is designed with flexibility and choice in mind to help SMEs innovate and achieve scalable growth. The announcement was made at CeBIT 2014, being held March 10–14 in Hanover, Germany.
The new version of SAP Business One for SAP HANA offers features that are only possible with the use of in-memory technology, enabling analysis of structured and unstructured information within seconds instead of days. With deep insights from the predictive analytics capabilities of SAP HANA, SMEs are able to optimize business planning, operations and decision-making while simultaneously gaining insight into new consumer trends and behavior. Customers around the world and across all industries are leveraging the new version to create centralized systems to manage all data, control both internal and external processes and gain improved insight into complex business processes.
“We chose SAP Business One on SAP HANA to prepare our business for the future on both functional and technical levels,” said Gert Boutsen, head of the Financial Department at Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht. “The application provides us with all of the necessary reporting and analysis capabilities we need and can handle large data requests without issues. We now have an affordable method to manage ticket sales, sponsorships, broadcasting rights and the buying and selling of our soccer team’s players — all in one integrated system.”
Customers in the automotive and food industries are also benefiting from the in-memory computing capabilities associated with SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA. MAN Truck & Bus Polska, a Polish subsidiary of leading international supplier of commercial vehicles and transport solutions, has integrated the application with its service partners to improve overall customer satisfaction and service partners’ businesses. The application offers them better visibility into service network operations and a fuller understanding of customer behavior, as well as instant advanced prediction capabilities. For Probar, a small business that is part of a broader network of Portuguese agri-food companies, the version of SAP Business One for SAP HANA helps streamline cost control and food security. And deploying a mobile version of the application for its sales force has helped Probar improve operations from pre-sale to logistics, enhancing speed and accuracy in each transaction.
At CeBIT, SAP will preview some of the functional enhancements and new capabilities planned for future versions of the solution.
“We are absolutely committed to the long-term success of SAP Business One, consistently responding to our partners and customers to build on and extend the product,” said Rinse Tamsma, global vice president, SAP Business One Sales, SAP. “We will preview at CeBIT planned enrichments and capabilities, including production module enhancements, multi-branch enablement and improved management of fixed assets. By bringing the latest in real-time analytics capabilities to SAP Business One, while consistently improving partner extensibility, we continue to deliver on the promise of offering a complete and scalable solution for companies to manage their businesses.”
