SAP Receives More Third-Party Recognition for Business Intelligence and Data Discovery Solutions

WALLDORF — SAP SE today announced that industry analyst firms Forrester and Ovum have named it a leading vendor for business intelligence and agile BI products in their recently published reports. SAP believes that this recognition further demonstrates its leadership in the growing and highly competitive business intelligence market. SAP’s focus on agile visualization and advanced predictive analytics helped it earn top marks according to the analyst reports.

According to the report, “The Forrester Wave™: Agile Business Intelligence Platforms, Q3 2014”*, “[SAP] Lumira and [SAP] BusinessObjects Explorer make SAP a formidable leader in Agile BI.” Additionally, ”SAP received high client feedback scores for its agile, business user self-service and ADV [advanced data visualization]  functionality. Clients also gave SAP a high score for its product vision.”

SAP products evaluated in this research, SAP Lumira and SAP BusinessObjects, “received top scores for the features technology professionals need to enable business user BI self-service, as well as the business user capabilities to perform data integration tasks within the BI tool,” wrote Boris Evelson, vice president, principal analyst, Forrester Research, Inc., in the report.

SAP was also recognized as a leader in the “Ovum Decision Matrix: Selecting a Business Intelligence Solution, 2014 – 2015.”**

“SAP continues to have the largest footprint in the BI market,” said Surya Mukherjee, senior analyst, Ovum.  “The popularity of SAP’s BI proposition can be accredited to a robust suite of vertical-specific products that are tightly integrated with SAP’s ERP applications. A sharpened focus on new areas of BI, such as data discovery (SAP Lumira), mobile (SAP [BusinessObjects Mobile]), in-memory analytics (SAP HANA) and predictive analytics (SAP InfiniteInsight), positions SAP well to continue to be the largest BI vendor in the market.”

Building on its recognition as a leader in agile BI and business intelligence, SAP recently announced enhancements to its analytics portfolio including innovations for SAP Lumira software and the availability of analytics solutions in SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud. Analytics solutions from SAP, available on premise and in the cloud, unleash the power of collective insight by delivering enterprise business intelligence, agile visualizations and advanced predictive analytics.
