Want to get closer to the hockey teams and players you love to watch?
Last week SAP announced a new multi-year partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL) that will help you do exactly that. The NHL has completely redesigned their fan website, and with SAP HANA cloud running in the background, fans can analyze a wide range of hockey statistics with a more interactive, intuitive leaderboard. As the NHL statistical platform rolls out over the next few years, hockey fans will be able to use a playoff prediction tool — or analyze teams and players using historical NHL data dating back to 1917.
The solution is so simple to use it engages everyone from hockey buffs to beginners. Powering that change is SAP’s data visualization software, SAP Lumira in the cloud, making make NHL.com/stats more interactive and easy to personalize. SAP will also provide cloud and analytics software to the NHL, helping them to become a best run business.
Tricia Manning Smith, SAP communications expert and former television reporter, was onsite last week for the announcement at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. She spoke with the NHL Commissioner, Gary Bettman, and SAP executives like Quentin Clark, Chief Technology Officer at SAP…and of course the fans!
