SAP HANA represents the starting point for many companies’ digital transformation. At CeBIT 2016, SAP will be demonstrating how it supports these organizations in line with the theme “Live Business Is Simple.”
SAP’s stand at CeBIT 2016, which is to take place in Hanover under the motto “Digital Transformation Is Happening Now,” will feature four live scenarios. The real-world examples on display will shed light on the various solutions and innovations made possible by this transformation, along with the practical ramifications it has for day-to-day business.
One thing is clear: With an in-memory platform at its core, the SAP S/4HANA suite gives companies what they need to keep up with all the changes taking place. By providing a foundation for end-to-end processes, integrated lines of business, and all-new customer experiences, SAP HANA serves as a powerful tool capable of turning floods of data into real business value.
SAP HANA: Single Source of Truth
Drawing meaningful insights out of big data, making work easier for companies’ IT and business departments, and providing a fully integrated platform that brings it all together: These are the facets reflected in this year’s SAP motto, “Live Business Is Simple.” Establishing a single source of truth based on the SAP HANA platform is the best way to start making decisions with sound information no matter what the situation. SAP’s motto will be evident in all of its talks, presentations, and other events at CeBIT 2016.
Practical: Four Live Scenarios and an Experience Area
1. The Connected Stadium
Saturday after Saturday, the game of soccer fills the stadiums of Bundesliga clubs all across Germany. This presents those in charge of organizing these mega events with a major logistical challenge. In this scenario, SAP will show attendees how fans can use the smartphone app TwoGo to find a shared ride and reserve a parking space – all while buying a ticket. Stadium managers, meanwhile, can call up heat maps to obtain real-time information on the traffic situation outside, provide alternative parking opportunities right when needed, and guide fans to them as they arrive.
2. The Digital Construction Site
Germany’s A8 autobahn is currently undergoing a variety of road work. The company contracted for this work has several main goals: always having enough crew members on-site, ensuring that the machines are constantly available, and of course, finishing the project on schedule to enable traffic to start flowing again as soon as possible. All of the construction machines are tracked by means of GPS sensors. If a component needs to be replaced as part of predictive maintenance, a digital map makes the machine in question easy to find. It’s also possible to optimize crew assignments thanks to information on available resources, which is consolidated on a corresponding platform.
3. Live Decision-Making
Thanks to the single source of truth the SAP HANA platform provides, all of the information relevant to important business decisions flows into a single repository. This means that the choices made in meetings are no longer based on PowerPoint or Excel files with stale information, but on the latest data drawn straight from a company’s core processes. In the flagship project showcased in the Live Decision-Making scenario, three touchscreens will display crucial information and give attendees the option of selecting their preferred level of detail. This foundation enables managers to make decisions and trigger actions right when they become necessary.
4. Retail – Personalized Shopping Experiences and Data Analytics for Decision-Makers
Today’s customers expect a seamless, tailored shopping experience that provides information on product content, origin, and other useful facts. SAP will be demonstrating how customers can put together their own personal smoothie and pick it up from a smart vending machine. Through meaningful data analysis, retailers can also obtain a sound basis for making decisions that will help them optimize their business, including everything from sales and stock levels to shopping habits.
Build Your Own Apps with SAP HANA Cloud Platform
Your own app in 15 minutes: That’s the goal of the SAP HANA Cloud Platform experience area, which will be part of the SAP stand in Hall 4. To make this possible, an online tutorial will offer a brief introduction to the subject before SAP mentors jump in to help the participants create their cloud-based apps.
