Thought leading companies in the building materials industry are working with SAP to drive digital transformation. Three customers will share their experiences at the SAP Building Materials Forum July 7-8, 2016 in Waldorf Germany.
The two-day conference will attract more than 100 business and IT-focused attendees representing a diverse set of companies including those active in cement and concrete, gypsum, flat glass and windows, sanitary-ware and fittings, flooring and roofing materials, insulation and panels.
On-site sessions will focus on how companies can use the newest technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile technology, in-memory computing and the cloud to exceed expectations of digitally connected customers, optimize asset performance and output and deliver on new opportunities by using demand and consumption data.
Mohawk Industries, the world’s largest manufacturer of flooring products, is embracing digital technologies of social, mobile, analytics and cloud (SMAC) as key enablers to grow its business, provide exceptional customer experience, effective workforce environment as well as operational productivity. In particular, Mohawk will discuss how digital transformation across its customer engagement model is leading to more personalized relationships with customers, higher efficiency, stronger sales and a better customer experience.
“If I told you 12 months ago that we could monitor somebody tweeting about a rug, and close the transaction in two minutes, nobody would have believed me. That is what I call innovation,” said Jana Kanyadan, SVP & CIO, Mohawk Industries, Inc.
Chicago Faucets (a Geberit Company), a sanitary technology manufacturer, is embracing digital transformation to create a platform for innovation, agility and speed and to aid its business in making better, faster decisions using Big Data.
“Our vision is to simplify and be fit for the future, so we decided to run all of our SAP solutions on an innovative, agile and safe database solution, SAP HANA, to be prepared for the challenges ahead with Big Data,” said Marius Reck, IT Manager, Chicago Faucets.
PrimeSource Building Products, a wholesale distributor of building materials, is using digital technology to vastly improve its inside and outside sales processes by empowering its territory managers and alleviating the burden on inside sales.
“One of the key business requirements for this digital transformation project was the optimization of the external sales processes by providing sales a modern digital platform with a 360-degree view on the customer, advanced visit planning, and reduced needs of phone calls to get inventory, truck efficiency and credit details. Six months after the implementation the benefits have started to be realized. Our Sales Team has been able to increase customer satisfaction and reduce the time to close deals,” said Angela Looney, business analyst, PrimeSource Building Products.
