SAP Labs Latin America, located in Sao Leopoldo, Brazil, is one of SAP’s market-focused development centers, putting a strong emphasis on developing and localizing business software solutions relevant to the Latin American market, and driving the company’s co-innovation projects with customers in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

SAP Labs Latin America was established in 2008 and has grown quickly to around 700 employees. The thought leadership topics it drives for the SAP Labs Network include the Internet of Things (IoT), healthcare, and smart building.

SAP Labs Latin America teamed up with Brazilian tractor manufacturer Stara to develop a platform for digital farming, delivering real-time data from tractors and other farm machinery to enable agribusinesses to improve productivity and operate more efficiently.

The highly skilled engineers from SAP Labs Latin America developed and are constantly refining the core engine behind SAP Vora, a solution that turbocharges Big Data analytics for open source software solutions. This is just one of the ways the development center currently contributes to the SAP Labs Network of 19 Labs spanning 16 countries.
