Vinomania Wins SAP’s Inaugural Dream Digital Contest for Small Businesses

Newsbyte

WALLDORF SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced that voters have selected Vinomania, an eclectic wine shop based in Syracuse, New York, as the winner of the first annual Dream Digital contest, which highlights how digital transformation can help small businesses realize their dreams of growing their operations and better serving their customers.

Vinomania’s entry, which focused on its commitment to customer satisfaction and desire to educate new audiences on what it offers, earned the most votes during the open voting period that ran on the Dream Digital website April 17 through May 1, 2017. The contest underscores SAP’s commitment to enabling and empowering small business owners through technology. The conclusion of the contest was timed with National Small Business Week, celebrating small businesses and their impact on the U.S. economy.

It’s #SmallBusinessWeek! SAP is excited to congratulate Vinomania, winners of the#DreamDigital contest

“At Vinomania, we’re all about the customers – whether it’s recommending a great wine, providing food pairing recommendations or lending them the glasses for their party,” said Gary Decker, owner of Vinomania. “To win the Dream Digital contest will go a long way in helping us to do that. We’re excited about how technology can help us do more and be more for current and prospective customers. The sky’s the limit as far as we’re concerned.”

Vinomania will receive a gift card to be used toward the digital purchase of SAP software, worth about $4,320, plus a $500 reward. The software includes a bundle of insights from the SAP Digital Consumer Insight data service, which helps businesses improve advertising, marketing and location planning; a one-year subscription to SAP Digital CRM, a simplified cloud CRM solution; and a one-year subscription to WorkConnect by SAP, the newest addition to the SAP Digital portfolio.

These solutions enable small business owners to address critical areas for business success — the hiring process, customer insights and customer engagement. Newly released research from SAP shows that 82 percent of business owners find managing multiple job posts difficult, while 91 percent find maintaining a pool of candidates challenging. WorkConnect addresses both points by aggregating candidate information across multiple job boards into a single dashboard. And using insights derived from customer data to inform marketing efforts or adjust store offerings has proven effective for many existing SAP Digital Consumer Insight customers.

As a result of the public voting and #DreamDigital social shares, SAP is donating $5,000 to the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring young people from low-income communities to stay in school and recognize business opportunities.
