WALLDORF — SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced the completed implementation for the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic (Ministerstvo vnutra SR) to fundamentally transform the electronic services and information systems of the National Police Force.
The ministry needed to reduce system inefficiencies and streamline all processes within the police communication and communication with citizens. The project required substantial trust and planning by the ministry and SAP to fully transfer all emergency and transaction processes, and to provide training for more than a thousand police officers.
The fully integrated platform combines the functionality to simultaneously manage a citizen interaction center, monitor and manage security measures, and integrate the center with the violation and penalty management system.
“Our emergency and policing operations are complex and demanding, with units spanning emergency response as well as public order, traffic, rail, border and river patrol police,” said Lieutenant Colonel Marek Petrus, National Police Force. “Digitalizing and centralizing these processes using the SAP Investigation Management for Public Sector package makes us more efficient, facilitates information exchange and keeps our citizens safer.”

The Ministry of the Interior is a central body of state administration of police, emergency services, civil protection and asylum. The digital interaction center combines integrated functionality of the ministry’s investigative case management to streamline operations, including:
- Digitalized and centralized operational processes in policing and emergency management with full information transparency across the Ministry of the Interior cluster
- Centralized integrated communications with mobile support linking command with field units and online localization to speed incident processing
- Active storage of operational plans for security measures and police operational planning for major events and public meetings
- Digital end-to-end approval processes and processing and collection of all infringements, fines and penalties
Public Security Focus at SAP Continues to Evolve
The Slovak Republic implementation represents the first major completed award for the newly created public security division of public services solutions from SAP.
