One of the busiest innovators on the show floor at SAP TechEd in Las Vegas was Sven Denecken, senior vice president of SAP S/4HANA Product Management and Co-Innovation.

He graciously gave me a few minutes of his time for this video to demonstrate how fast developers can build native cloud apps on SAP Cloud Platform using the SAP S/4HANA Cloud software development kit (SDK).

“It’s now much easier for developers to build native cloud apps on the SAP Cloud Platform that are integrated with their company’s digital core, extending the value of SAP S/4HANA Cloud,” said Denecken. “The SDK is complete with templates, integration capabilities and security, allowing developers to create apps in minutes, not days.”

There was plenty of excitement about the SDK throughout the event, especially among the customers, partners, and developers who attended a capacity-filled strategy talk from Wieland Schreiner, executive vice president, SAP S/4HANA. When I caught up with Wieland on the show floor, he was justifiably proud of the company’s announcement of 1,000 live customers on SAP S/4HANA, as well as tremendous milestones with innovations like machine learning, IoT, blockchain, and voice recognition.

“Announcing our 1,000th SAP S/4HANA customer, Daimler AG, is a major milestone validating the strategic digital transformation journey we’re on with customers and partners,” said Schreiner. “Now we’re ready to help our developers and partners really scale in the cloud with the release of SAP S/4HANA Cloud SDK.”

ERP Moved to the Cloud

Talking with Wieland, I agreed that ERP software is moving to the cloud and becoming increasingly more intelligent.  This is where the SDK comes in.
