Announcing the SAP Business ByDesign 1808 Release
With the new 1808 release, SAP Business ByDesign continues the insight-to-action journey with custom-tailored overview pages in combination with information-rich data sources and the ability to integrate predictive analytics. It now enables users to incorporate relevant insights into overview pages that also come with pre-delivered content. Below are a couple of real live scenarios to demonstrate how this works.
KPI Example: How to Manage “Not-Yet-Invoiced Time and Expenses”
One of the key tasks for project managers and the order management department is the accurate and timely billing of customer projects. Inaccurate invoices can hurt the client relationship, and the delayed billing of project expenses will negatively affect the company’s cash flow. To ensure both goals are successfully met, the custom-tailored overview pages in SAP Business ByDesign provide project managers with the necessary insight into which project times and expenses are available to be billed so the project manager can take action as needed. Properly set thresholds, which can be defined individually, alert the project manager when the defined amounts of not yet invoiced times and expenses are reached or exceeded.
Moreover, SAP Business ByDesign 1808 supports companies to define the content of role-specific overview pages by key users, which can then be deployed to all affected users. Business users can adapt them even further to suit their specific needs.
Combine the Power of Built-In Analytics with Sophisticated Prediction Capabilities
In addition, the information that companies gain through the built-in analytical capabilities can be combined with the advanced predictive capabilities, powered by the SAP Analytics Cloud solution. Let’s explain this via the following use case for discrete industries.
Use Case: Optimize Delivery Performance, Avoid Delays
Traditionally, we would use the ‘on-time-in-full’ report, which provides information into which sales orders have been delayed either in partial or full quantity. We would drill-down, making use of the multi-dimensional analysis pattern and try to find the common factors.
In the current release, customers can access the relevant data within SAP Analytics Cloud and run smart insights to identify key drivers regarding any delays. For example, is it happening with specific customers, sales agents, or simply with orders placed on a particular day of the week? More to Come in the SME Insight-to-Action Journey
Spoiler alert! The insight-to-action journey will continue in further upcoming releases with additional SAP Business ByDesign functionalities that will enable users to, for example, share personal and corporate dashboards with colleagues. So stay tuned!
