SAP Named a Predictive Analytics Leader in 2018 Dresner Market Study

WALLDORF SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) announced that SAP Predictive Analytics software has been ranked in the top three solutions in a field of industry peers, according to Dresner Advisory Services.

The firm’s “Advanced and Predictive Analytics 2018 Report” ranks vendors on a variety of core advanced and predictive features, data preparation, usability, scalability and integration. Vendors must achieve a minimum score based on those features to qualify for the study — and SAP ranked as a top vendor among the evaluated participants.

The ranking comes at a time where industries are placing an increasing amount of importance on predictive analytics capabilities. According to the report, “Historically, and again in 2018, fundamental business intelligence technologies (dashboards, reporting, advanced visualization and end-user self-service) top our list of technologies and initiatives strategic to business intelligence. Advanced and predictive analytics — at number seven — garners very high priority, well ahead of topics including enterprise planning, end-user data preparation, cloud and Big Data.”

“In our 2018 study, advanced and predictive analytics is considered ‘critical’ or ‘very critical’ to a majority of respondents, and we believe advanced and predictive analytics is an essential ingredient in any successful BI strategy,” said Howard Dresner, founder and chief research officer at Dresner Advisory Services.

SAP Predictive Analytics software helps users create, deploy and maintain thousands of predictive models, helping to anticipate future behavior and outcomes and guide better, more profitable decision-making across the Intelligent Enterprise.

“The SAP Analytics portfolio helps users better understand their business and plan and anticipate the future so that they can make better decisions faster and with more confidence,” said Gerrit Kazmaier, senior vice president and head of development for Database and Data Management and Analytics, SAP. “Predictive technology is a key part of our strategy for advanced analytics, allowing customers to build custom predictive models as well as augmenting and automating analytics workflows for every user.”

SAP recently announced the SAP Analytics Cloud solution is now available with new machine learning features to uncover correlations in an organization’s data and help users make faster, more confident decisions.
